Are you looking for a simple daily routine to help you conquer your day and add more ease and flow into your life?
Whether you have a love or hate relationship with mornings, you can create an effective routine that sets the tone for your day to be more productive, healthy, and focused.
In this article, I’ll guide you through the M.A.G.I.C. Formula I designed to support my vitality and productivity. It is a proven practice that added many magical moments to my days and allowed me to master my emotions and reframe my daily experiences for the better.
Through this practice, you will learn to lead from a state of flow while being intentional about your daily actions to stay committed to your success and create momentum toward your dream life.
Follow these five simple practices and use the journal prompts to help create your perfect routine:
1. Move Your Body in the Morning

Your body holds a pool of wisdom you can access by expressing yourself through movement. Daily purposeful motion gives you direct access to the unconscious messages and information stored in your body.
“Issues are in the tissues.” When we choose to intentionally move our body, tensions get unblocked and our feminine energy gets released! A gentle sway or jumping around your house allows your body to take over and start moving the way it needs to move to recharge, heal, or reconnect to your inner wisdom.
Starting with movement sends the right signals to your body and sets you on the right path for the day. Ashley Richmond at Medium states, “Movement releases cortisol and endorphins and increases your core temperature and circulation, which will make you feel more alert, full of energy, and ready to focus.”
So, dance, wave your arms, shake your legs, or do a workout by moving to your rhythm. Don’t let the word “Dance” scare you! It just means Defeat All Negativity with Creative Expression! This activity is about releasing control, letting go of perfection, moving your body as it wants, and allowing the motion to happen freely without judgment.
Start your morning by losing yourself in this curated Fire and Flow playlist I use with my Fire and Flow Academy clients. If you’re not physically able to dance, use your mind to move your spirit. Your body will appreciate the gift of surrendering and free-flowing movement.
How does my body feel at this moment? Should I put soothing or energizing songs on my playlist today?
2. Align Your Actions

An action without an intention or purpose equates to a loss of energy. To focus your efforts, you must practice delving deeper and listening to your intuition. Your intuition is one of the most powerful tools to guide your life journey. Psychological Scientist Joel Pearson says, “…we can use (our intuition) an unconscious information in our body or brain to help guide us through life, to enable better decisions, faster decisions, and be more confident in the decisions we make.”
When you listen to your intuition – that gentle whisper, you act with more purpose and alignment and start creating the life you want effortlessly. We are preconditioned to keep ourselves busy thinking about checklists while our body knows what we are energized to do. When you are excited about your aligned action, it will get done faster and with more inspiration.
We all have daily priorities and also access to inner wisdom. Through the practice of slowing down and reflecting on, ‘Which task am I most motivated to do today?’, an answer will surface. And when you align yourself with that inner knowing, you’ll unlock ease and creativity. Focus on what brings joy and stay committed to your vision; the rest follows.
What are two or three key aligned actions I can tackle today that will energize me and get me closer to my weekly goal?
3. Generate More Gratitude

Gratitude is one of the most incredible feelings you can give yourself and others. When it becomes a daily practice, you will experience more presence, happiness, and energy to tackle each day.
Gratitude creates so many wonders in your life. This practice helps you realize how many things, circumstances, and events you take for granted and teaches you to appreciate the little things as much as the big stuff. When we are in a headspace of gratitude, it is impossible to be in a victim mentality. Being grateful gives you the strength to be appreciative, even when facing challenges and setbacks.
From improving our health to increasing our resilience, gratitude has many benefits. This infographic by Adalia B. John summarizes the importance of this daily practice.

So how do you practice gratitude? Start by getting yourself a gratitude journal like the Five Minute Journal, or create your own. Whether in the morning, the evening, or both, list three things you are grateful for today, three good things that happened yesterday, or three things you would love to see or feel more throughout the coming day. Finish your practice by putting a subtle smile on your face and gently placing your hands over your heart while visualizing what you are mostly grateful for.
Before your head touches the pillow at night, reflect on this question to nurture more gratitude into your life:
If I can only take with me to tomorrow what I am grateful for today, what am I thankful for?
4. Increase Your Impact

Consciously creating a positive impact throughout your day is a mindfulness practice that will generate cherished moments throughout your life. You have more impact on others than you can imagine. In this context, the impact is about creating a positive influence around you, which can be through small or big interactions.
This conscious practice is about truly believing that you matter and have many gifts to share with the world. It is about being intentional and acting from a heart-centered place spreading love, joy, laughs, and support without any expectations. It can be as simple as smiling at a stranger, sending thoughtful messages, supporting a local business, or actively listening to someone sharing their wins, troubles, or unfiltered story.
Before you start your day, ask yourself:
How can I selflessly serve people today, no matter how small?
This impact reaches its peak when the positivity we bestow on others uplifts them so they can pass on their happiness to others. By doing this, even the slightest impact can have far-reaching results.
5. Create Meaningful Connections

Intentional connections are essential for us to feel balanced and joyful in our lives, especially after the devasting consequences of the pandemic on our social lives. This last practice of the MAGIC habits formula is about choosing to initiate connections with others and making an extra effort to foster meaningful relationships, and cultivating strong bonds with people.
The Canadian Mental Health Association states, “Social connection can lower anxiety and depression, help us regulate our emotions, lead to higher self-esteem and empathy, and improve our immune systems.” Many of us have abruptly lost that connection, and countless people struggle with loneliness and isolation. Yet we all have the magic touch that can put a smile on someone else’s face.
This practice is about nurturing your connections or sparking new ones. It is not about becoming an extrovert or a social butterfly. It is your routine that you can shape to what makes sense to you and to what degree you choose to nourish your relationships.
As a personal practice, I keep three unique coins on my desk, and I flip each one every time I connect with someone, give a compliment, initiate a gathering, or share praise. These coins remind me daily to be intentional and bring my heart to every interaction, discussion, or communication.
